All throughout April, we’re crowdsourcing a coronavirus quarantine comics reading list. Each weekday for a month, we’ll post a new recommendation from someone in the comics industry to help folks get through the isolation. This includes writers, artists, letterers, editors, comics journalists, publicists, and more…all paired with a local shop that’s currently selling the books via mail order.

Today’s pick comes from writer Amy Chu…enjoy!

As a writer sometimes it's difficult to not dissect a successful story and just enjoy it for what it is. That series for me at the moment is Killadelphia by Rodney Barnes and Jason Shawn Alexander. It's a tale of urban vampirism with plenty of twists and social commentary. I'm loving the character development and pacing, and, of course, the artwork. I don't know where it's headed, like this COVID thing, but I'm ready to see it to its hopefully not-complete-apocalyptic end. If you miss the good old days of Vertigo this would be right up your alley. -Amy Chu

Amy Chu has written a long list of famous characters in comics, including Poison Ivy, Wonder Woman, Deadpool, Red Sonja, Emma Frost, and more. She’s also the first woman to write a Green Hornet comic.
